NeverAfter progress, Dead Folk rewrite, personal reflections & next steps.
NeverAfter is a cooperative roguelike built to drive KLEP toward a 1.0 release. We’ve locked in all the core fantasy‐style sprites and mechanics; now it’s time to streamline KLEP’s API, polish the demo loop, and package both for the Unity Asset Store. Documentation, quick-start examples, and in-editor tooltips will be next so other devs can dive in immediately.
Dead Folk currently sits at ~20,000 words after a full rewrite of the opening four chapters. While there’s an Amazon contest rewarding publications this month, I’m choosing quality over speed— a tighter draft in June will serve readers better than rushing out a half-baked manuscript for broader exposure.
I attended my uncle’s funeral on the old family farm—an emotional reunion with cousins I barely remember. Watching my mother grieve those shared memories, I realized how disconnected we’ve become from our own past. It’s driven me to record those fading fragments before they vanish entirely.
• NeverAfter & KLEP: Simplify, document, and launch KLEP 1.0 with a live demo.
• Dead Folk: Finish second draft, gather beta feedback, target June submission.
• Personal: Process this loss through a short memoir essay on family ties.
